MSc Investment Management Reaffirmed as CFA Program Partner

In January this year, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute reaffirmed the University of Reading’s status as a CFA Program Partner with the ICMA Centre’s postgraduate degree MSc Investment Management.

The CFA Program Partnership is offered to institutions that are “academic leaders and champions of practical, relevant, and thought-provoking investment education programs”. The course’s status as Program Partner demonstrates to students that the course content is closely tied with professional standards of practice.

“With ever increasing competition in the financial markets, it is more important than ever for students to be able to distinguish themselves from other job applicants,” commented Director for MSc Investment ManagementDr Mike Smith, “That’s why as an integral part of the MSc Investment Management course our students have the opportunity to study the CFA programme level 1 in parallel with the course content, thus giving ICMA Centre students both a MSc qualification from a top 200 business school worldwide (QS World University Rankings 2018), as well as an industry-recognised professional qualification at the end of their masters programme.

The ICMA Centre is one of just 149 partners worldwide to be accredited with the partnership and has been a Program Partner since September 2006. Henley Business School was also one of the first four schools in the UK to have an undergraduate program receive this status.
